Sheringham Museum

Learning activities for schools

We offer a selection of curriculum based workshops for you to choose from, or we can collaborate with you to create a bespoke package to meet the specific needs of your students.

Our Learning programme is collection focused, providing hands-on, interactive and creative experiences that can bring learning to life for your students. We have a purpose built Learning Centre, with amazing sea views and a range of technology to help support and enhance your learning experience. We can help you with Health and Safety assessment. A copy of our guidance document is available to view in our ‘planning a visit’ section.

Primary Programme:

The museum collections work well for EYFS, KS1 and KS2, exploring topics from materials and their uses to local history and creative writing. We focus on hands-on learning, taking inspiration from our collections and the local environment.

Secondary Programme:

Our KS3 and KS4 programmes focus on using the collections to support Art and Design, Geography: coastal processes and Science: renewable energy. We also offer project-based work with secondary schools, and would welcome ideas about using our objects and displays to support your curriculum learning. For further information about our activities and workshops please click on the LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES link (This is where detailed information about all workshops/activities will be listed)
